Personal protective equipment for general industry

Personal protective equipment standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations Administration

29 CFR 1910, (.132-.139) Part One

●Employers bear the following responsibilities

●Assess and archive the hazards

●Select appropriate personal protective equipment according to the evaluation results

●Inform employees of the hazard assessment results and the selection of personal protective equipment

●Train relevant employees when personal protective equipment is needed

●Others and more

●Train relevant employees on the required personal protective equipment.

●Train relevant employees on putting on and taking off and putting on personal protective equipment

●Train relevant employees on the proper use, maintenance, service life and disposal of personal protective equipment

●Verify and confirm that each employee understands the training and can use personal protective equipment correctly, and re-trains when personal protective equipment and hazardous materials change or employees cannot use them correctly

Principles of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations Authority

●The employer has the responsibility to provide a safe workplace

●Hazard assessment must be conducted to determine the risk

●Employers must be able to assess the degree of harm

●Records of hazard assessment must be kept

●Personal protective equipment is not the only protection, but must be linked with monitoring, engineering control and perfect production regulations

Principles of Dangerous Goods Protection

●Eliminate hazards-substitute materials

●Engineering control-monitoring, mechanical design

●Working regulations and management control-standard procedures and operations

●Personal protective equipment-the last line of defense

-Fully enclosed chemical protective clothing

-Chemical protective gloves inside and outside

-Chemical boots

-Hard hat

●Must wear in the following situations

-IDLH environment-immediate danger to life or health, skin contact or inhalation

-There may be high concentrations of steam, gas or liquid

-It is very likely to be splashed, immersed or exposed to accidental chemicals, causing damage to the skin or being absorbed through the skin

HAZWOPER- Class D

●No respiratory protection, slight skin protection

-clothing

-Chemical gloves

-Chemical boots

-Safety glasses or goggles

-Sturdy hat

●Wear in the following situations

-No known harmful gases in the atmosphere

-There is no possibility of liquid splashing, immersion in liquid or contact with any harmful chemicals during work

Pathogens affecting the hematopoietic system 29 CFR 1910.1030

●Medical workers exposed to hepatitis

●Strengthen protection due to increased risk of hepatitis virus infection

●Requirements for protective clothing

One must protect the skin, eyes, mouth and mucous membranes from contact with blood and body fluids

One is worn and used at ordinary times.

●Choose protective clothing according to possible exposure risks of work

Other regulations

●Agricultural Worker Standard

-Determine protection standards based on work and toxicity·mixers, loaders and applicators

-In some cases no entry

-Prevent "home laundering" that pollutes clothes

-"High-performance" protective suit is not necessary

●Asbestos and lead paint

-Particle Hazard

-The focus is on work operations and procedures

Tyvek Protective Coveralls

Tyvek   Protective Coveralls  (Tyvek) is a wide range of   protective gown   manufactured by Tyvek (Tyvek) for use by emergency responders to industrial workers. Tyvek  protective clothing  offers the industry's proven most scientific solutions, including the reliable brand 3360Tyvek for dust protection, Tychem for liquid and gas hazardous chemical protection, NOMEX for heat and flame protection, and KEVLAR for cutting and wear protection. TYVEK protective suit is made of traditional TYVEK polymer coating. It has the strength/weight ratio and softness of TYVEK protective suit, which can completely protect fine and harmful dust, concentrated inorganic acid and alkali and water and salt solution. Protects up to 2 bar pressure from spatter. The Tevetron protective suit (Tevetron) has been proven to protect fluids, blood and pathogens in blood through osmosis tests with blood and virus substitutes. Function description of Trevek protective suit: TYVEK pr...

Biodegradability, reusability and safety of protective clothing

Microplastic pollution, known as "pm2.5 in water", has become a direct source of pollution in the ocean, soil and drinking water, affecting human health. Medical   protective coveralls   is almost made of different polymer materials. The development of a new material can replace the existing material to form a new series of products. As most of the existing   protective suits  are designed to be disposable, they are used heavily during the pandemic. Used medical   protective clothing   should be disposed of centrally to prevent secondary transmission of the virus. Therefore, protective clothing materials must be developed to be repeatable and degradable. Due to the particularity of application scenarios, most medical  protective gown  is disposable. Therefore, environment-friendly materials should be considered in the development of medical  protective gown , and must be considered before material selection and protective clothes desig...

Production process of medical protective clothing

Generally speaking, the production of medical   protective coveralls   needs to go through the steps of raw material preparation, cutting, stitching, tightening, adhesive and pressing, finished products, sterilization and disinfection, warehousing and so on. Among them, sterilization and disinfection takes the longest time. Ethylene oxide is mostly used for sterilization and disinfection of materials, which requires 7-14 days of analysis, seriously affecting the production efficiency of medical   protective gown , and a more efficient sterilization method is urgently needed. Irradiation sterilization can be sterilized without disassembly and assembly, which is efficient and prevents secondary pollution. In 2011, Japan has listed the operation specifications of irradiation sterilization in the sterilization standard for protective clothing, which will reduce the sterilization time to less than 1 d. In order to address the shortage of medical protective clothes durin...
